Lone Star College – Kingwood

Lone Star College-Kingwood, like many educational institutions across the country, has adjusted to life amid COVID-19. Administrators have implemented protocols to ensure the health and safety of all students, employees, and visitors. Those initiatives, which mirror the CDC guidelines, require everyone on campus to wear masks, practice social distancing and submit daily health declaration forms while encouraging hand washing and sanitization.

LSC-Kingwood’s primary mission is student success. Administrators, faculty, and staff are working diligently to ensure that the college offers programs and modalities to help students meet their educational and career goals during this uncertain time. Many of the classes are online, but some are available in a hybrid or face-to-face format. The modalities for spring 2021 will depend on the status of COVID-19 across the city and state.

LSC-Kingwood, a member of the Lone Star College System, offers students many educational choices such as credit classes, university transfer courses, career and vocational programs, distance learning, and an extensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) program for youth and adults. These programs prepare students for the workforce or a four-year university.

In spring 2022, LSC-Kingwood will open its 10th building, the Health Professions Center, which will house the five growing health care programs. In addition to the main campus, there are three satellite locations. The East Montgomery County Improvement District houses the college’s ALL program for adults age 50 and older. The Lone Star College-Atascocita Center offers local access to services, college courses and programs, workforce training, and leisure learning. The LSC-Process Technology Center has state-of-the-art simulation equipment, a hands-on training unit, labs, and classrooms for the process technology and instrumentation
technology programs.

Lone Star College-Kingwood opened in 1984 with approximately 1,000 students. Today it is the educational institution of choice for nearly 12,000 students. LSC-Kingwood is located at 20000 Kingwood Drive. For more information or to register for a class, visit LoneStar.edu/kingwood or call 281-312-1600.
